John 15:1

Pastor David Cay

A recent study found that the average iPhone user is on their phone for two and half hours over seventy-six sessions. Another study on millennials put the number at twice that!

Can you imagine how much you could get done if you had another two and a half more hours in a day? Or if you were interrupted 76 less times?

But whenever I’m away from my phone, I feel angst like I feel I’m missing out on a WhatsApp message, or I’m missing breaking news on Twitter.

For some of us it’s playing a game or checking YouTube and Tik Tok (Instagram, Snap Chat), and before you know it you look at the clock and you’ve wasted so much time. You’ve lost so much time to this black hole called our phone.

Itt’s not just the phone, but people waste time in all kinds of ways. It might be a toxic relationship, or wasting time on some achievement that in the end doesn’t fill your soul.

It happens to us even though it’s the opposite of what we want. Most of us have a good desire to make a difference in the world. We want to make a difference through our work, family, and relationships.

We don’t want to waste our lives So my question today is: How can we get the right things done so our lives are full of meaning and purpose?

John 10:9-10

Pastor Tim Nguyen

One of the biggest reasons why Christianity is so offensive is because we claim to have the exclusive, absolute truth. The ONLY way to life and we try to convince everyone that we’re right and they’re wrong. And that just does not fly in our culture. It’s so narrow, it’s so close minded. We’re taught to be progressive and accepting of everything! ANd Christianity is NOT that.

But what if Jesus was right about himself? What if he is the cure to our broken world? And the only way to an abundant life? At the very least, it’s worth taking a look at.

In our passage today, Jesus makes a claim about himself and I want you to join me in thinking about it before we blindly accept it or reject it.

John 14:1-6

Pastor David Cay

During the pandemic, I had to put down my dog Kiwi. It’s probably one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had to go through. One of the hardest things to go through was the days after her death. It was actually the simple moments where it really hit you. It really hurt.

The older I get, the more I realize that grief, times of loss and discomfort is inevitable. The Bible tells us to expect it- there are even times when God directly leads us to times of grief. But at the same time, God gives us great hope in the midst of it.

So, my question today is: What is our greatest comfort in times of loss?
As we will see, in times of loss, we have to apply our knowledge of Jesus. And as always, we’ll see our big idea in the Bible.

John 10:10-13

Pastor Tim Nguyen

Jesus offers a way of living where we can go beyond just simply surviving. He offers a life where we thrive. Something that’s better than whatever the world has to offer. An abundant life with him.

How can we have abundant life?
Our passage today shows us that we can have abundant life when:

  1. We are led by Jesus
  2. We lead like Jesus.

John 8:12

Pastor Enoch Chee

No matter how old we get, there’s always stuff that we don’t know. It’s actually normal to stumble through life not knowing what we’re doing and making terrible decisions just because we don’t know better. Probably all of us have seen people make terrible life decisions.

On the other hand, there are people who just seem to thrive in life and they seem to know what they’re doing.

How can we know what we need to know? We need to follow Jesus out of the darkness. Because, as it turns out, we all start in the darkness. But Jesus leads us out of the darkness. We’ll see this in our Bible passage today.

John 6:25-27; 35

Pastor David Cay

Today we’re starting a new series in the book of John. We’ll be covering five statements that Jesus says about himself. Radical truths about him that can change our lives for the better. Today’s story comes from a time when Jesus was really famous!

Sometimes our heavenly father will let us go through pain and hard times and people can get really bitter at God. I’ve seen close friends leave the faith because they feel God did them wrong

So, my big question today is, how can we be happy with God and less frustrated? Our Bible passage today tells us 2 things:

  1. God doesn’t fit into our plans, but instead…
  2. We need to fit into God’s plans.
