Deacon Board Members – Effective August 1, 2022
Below is a list of our deacon board members, and the role descriptions for each deacon position.
Also, in addition to their specialized responsibilities, all deacons take part in monthly leadership discussions that determine the direction of the church.
 Aaron Ngo | Chairperson -Organizes monthly board meeting and retreats -Gathers information from church and elsewhere to help the board make decisions -Monitors workload and burnout in board and volunteers -Helps to find replacement board members and new staff -Overall goal is to support all volunteers and staff with administrative leadership |
 Ben Liou | Worship deacon for administration -Schedules the worship teams, manages team rosters -Responds to changes in the schedules of worship team members -Oversees equipment (e.g. batteries, maintenance) -Overall goal is to do day-to-day background work so worship volunteers can focus on doing what they are good at |
 David Tran | Worship deacon for development -Actively searches for ways to improve the worship ministry. Some possibilities: organize workshops, provide devotional material for worship teams, refine the song selection process, listen to feedback from teams and congregation. -Helps to search for new volunteers who will be blessed to serve. -Overall goal is to maximize the potential of the worship ministry. |
Joseph Nguyen | Missions / Outreach deacon -Oversees outreach activities -Researches ways to engage the church with people who are not Christians. -Overall goal is to provide the church with concrete opportunities for outreach |
 Jason Hou | Treasurer -Helps people to process reimbursements -Tracks financial details for the church -Helps develop financial strategy -Overall goal is to support other ministries by taking care of financial details |
 David Pham | Male small groups deacon -Visits various small groups in the church (e.g. YAM, men’s group, Book Clubs) -Finds ways to connect men to social activities and to spiritual activities -Helps with the administration of small groups (e.g. volunteer rotations) -Overall goal is to identify spiritual needs in men and gather resources to meet those needs |
Rebecca Nguyen | Female small groups deacon -Visits various small groups in the church (e.g. YAM, women’s group, Book Clubs) -Finds ways to connect women to social activities and to spiritual activities -Helps with the administration of small groups (e.g. volunteer rotations) -Overall goal is to identify spiritual needs in women and gather resources to meet those needs |
 Elvis Nguyen | Communications deacon -Manages electronic media (website, FB, IG, calendar) -Promotes church events before they happen -Relays announcements from the board to the tech team -Overall goal is to make information useful and accessible for everyone who needs it |
 Damara Mui | Events deacon -Helps find volunteers for special events, e.g. camps, Easter outreach, VBS, Halloween, Christmas outreach, appreciation dinners -Helps coordinate event volunteers and contacts them as necessary -Helps prepare facilities for events -Overall goal is to provide administrative help for major events so they reach their intended goals. |
