The Faithful Church: 1st & 2nd Timothy – August 16, 2026

Read the passage: 1 Timothy 6:6-19

The big question today is: How can we be men and women of God?

The question today is based on the context of 1 Timothy. Timothy is an upcoming young leader, probably YAM or ZOE age. Paul. is writing this letter to Timothy to warn him about sin and the pitfalls of church. He’s also guiding and mentoring Timothy, telling him what it means to be righteous and a follower of Jesus. In verse 11 of our passage today, Paul calls Timothy a man of God.

I think that’s Paul’s goal in writing this letter is to help Timothy become a man of God

So that’s what were trying to figure out: How can we be men and women of God?

And in this story, heroes are emerging
Ruth is becoming a hero to Naomi
And Boaz, a new character is also becoming a hero to both.

The big question we’re looking at today is:

To answer this question,
we need to define what makes a good hero.
So today, we’re going to walk through some characteristics of
what a hero should be and what they should do.
