Read the passage: 1 Timothy 2:8-15
In this message, I want to talk about this verse and the surrounding passage, 1 Timothy 2:8-15. It is one of the most controversial and misunderstood passages in the Bible. People who have misunderstood this passage have caused a lot of suffering, and they have divided the Christian movement.
However, I also believe there is treasure in our passage, because it helps us to understand what it means to be a man or woman as God intended. So today I want to talk about gender. And I want to show you two ideas from the Bible:
- We need to resist the evils of our gender’s subculture
- We need to accept our God-given limitations and strengths, which are influenced by our gender
